Niche: Modern vintage pinup nostalgia
Design: The design is simple, functional, and simply oozing with personality. Little touches of vintage decore, art deco designs, and retro mainstays can be found all over. There's not any one thing that really jumps out at me, but the overall addition of these elements show how much care has gone into staying true to their inspiration.
Pictures: 302 sets in total plus behind the scenes. Martha's Girls do their damndest to hold true to their vintage roots. Photography techniques, sets, and photo finishes are all done with a heavy vintage style. It's impossible to tell the difference between many of these shots and true vintage photography. Although they employ a retro look to their pictures, that only adds a nostalgic element to their pictures - they do not allow their faithfulness to vintage photos degrade the quality. All of the pictures are incredibly high quality and mimic a wide variety of time periods. Most of the photos are extremely reminisicent of 40s/50s pinups and cheesecake pics. While I didn't get an exact count of the photo sets (I was too busy at oogling the lovely ladies), there are 14 Martha's Girls (plus the stunning Martha herself!). The average number of different photo sets per girl is about 15. There are also galleries of the ladies in (and out of) their everyday modern clothes and 15 pages of Behind the Scenes shoots.
Speed: Everything was very responsive and downloads were quick.
Navigation: Navigation was pretty simple. You are greeted by a main page allowing you to go directly to the girls, the pornofolio (more on that in a bit), Latest updates, and contact information. The main gallery section in Martha's Girls is divided up by both the time period they are emulating and the model. One thing that bugged me was the lack of an easy access to the great Behinds the Scenes section. I'm addicted to porn bloopers and behind the scenes info, so having to click through multiple pages to find it irritated me a little. I do enjoy the charm about finding it's secret hiding place, but at the same time I do have to say I think it should be more accessible.
Originality: In my opinion, you aren't going to find a more original and absolutely hilarious porn site. Personality absolutely pours from this site and the nostalgic feel never lets up throughout the entire site.
Overall Ease of Use: This was a positive browsing experience. I didn't experience any timeouts or slow loads, and breadcrumb navigation throughout the gallery pages kept me from getting lost in this lovely site.
Main Draws: The site concept, beautiful women, and high quality vintage style photography is enough to keep me coming back again and again.
Updates: Since changing over to a new owner, Martha's Girls has not updated since August.
Bonus Fun: On top of the aforementioned Behind the Scenes section, there are a few other cute oddities that need to be mentioned. The first one is the brilliantly selected movies for each gallery. Yup, that's right, they added music scores that reflect popular music of the time period for each set. Don't worry though, if you don't like the music playing you can toggle it off for either a single gallery or for all of them. All I have to say is holy shit A Train! THANK YOU! Another big section is the Pornfolio, which is a portfolio of many different pornography niches done by the stunning Martha herself. This cool section has her emulating popular porn niches, and making use of a VERY unusual partner in her escapades.
Annoyances: The one thing I had an issue with was the whole hidden Behind the Scenes section. While it does make sense to have a Behind the Scenes area literally behind the scenes in a deep section of the site, I would have loved to know that the site had one the minute I visited.
Is It Worth it? If you love pinups, cheesecake, or retro modern nostalgia, then this it the place for you to be. Martha's Girls is remarkably true to the past and they're only getting better. The photos are all of solo girls and are softcore in nature, so this isn't going to do the trick if you want to see more than beautiful nude women.
